Grand Opening For Tilden Ridge Shopping Center

Home of Walmart Superstore, Lowe's & 100,000 SF of Retail Opened March 15, 2011

Tilden, PA - March 23, 2011– Metro Commercial Real Estate, Inc., the Philadelphia region's premier full-service retail real estate company, announced today that Tilden Ridge, the 400,000 square foot regional shopping center located in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, which is anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter and Lowe’s Home Improvement, had its grand opening on March 15, 2011. 

The site is situated at the intersection of Route 61 and Route 78 – the two major highways servicing the northern Berks County / Southern Schuylkill County markets.  The site is also accessed via Cabela’s Drive – sharing the traffic signal with Cabela’s Worlds Foremost Outfitter, a 250,000 square foot specialty retailer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor gear. 

The developer, Ironwood Property Group, based in West Conshohocken, PA, has been working on Tilden Ridge in the planning, design and construction phase for almost six years, ever since Cabela’s successfully opened to the public and Tilden Township identified the area for commercial development.  The project required the direct support and involvement from the Township, County and other reviewing agencies, as well as from many private firms and individuals. 

Tilden Ridge Shopping Center is 98% pre-leased and includes the following retailers:

There are limited leasing opportunities remaining which include restaurant pad sites, and a Phase Two inline space construction of 12,600 SF.

Metro Commercial’s Joseph Dougherty and Glenn Marvin were the leasing agents for the shopping center development. “Tilden Ridge is a first-class retail destination,” said Glenn Marvin, Principal of Metro Commercial Real Estate.  “The retail stores in the center provide multiple options for the local, regional and super-regional customers in Berks County.” 

During one of the worst economic times in recent history, Wal-Mart, Lowes, and the other retailers committed to Tilden Ridge as a part of their limited expansion plans.  This commitment shows the magnitude of the site and the success anticipated while bringing the total retail GLA in the market to almost 1 Million square feet and over 6.5 Million visitors to Cabelas Outdoor’s top performing store in the United States.
