Metro Commercial Brokers Dollar Tree Deal in New Britain, PA

National retailer plans continued expansion in Philadelphia area

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – May 22, 2008 –Metro Commercial, the region’s largest full-service retail real estate firm, announced today that it has brokered an 11,686-square-foot lease for Dollar Tree in the Town Center of New Britain.

Metro Commercial’s Donna Drew represented Dollar Tree in the lease transaction. The national retailer, which is expected to open its New Britain store later this summer, joins Giant as the 125,000-square-foot shopping center’s newest anchor at 426 Town Center in New Britain, PA.

The deal comes on the heels of a 10,263-square-foot lease transaction for Dollar Tree in the Eagleville Plaza Shopping center in Eagleville, PA. Drew, who has represented Dollar Tree for the past 13 years, has negotiated all of their new leases and expansions throughout the Philadelphia market.

“We are always proud to help Dollar Tree address its growth and expansion,” says Drew. “Town Center of New Britain is a prominent shopping center in this area, and it will help Dollar Tree continue to establish its presence in the area.”

Dollar Tree, the publicly-traded, 3,400-store retailer hopes to add 20 Dollar Trees in the Philadelphia area, plus 50 more for its Deal$ division, which sells groceries and other items worth $5 and less. Other existing Dollar Tree locations are looking to expand.

Dollar Tree is the nation’s leading operator of single-point dollar stores. As of 2008, Dollar Tree operated in 48 states. The company also operates a coast-to-coast logistics network of nine distribution centers. The stores sell variety products including housewares, food, toys, beauty products, gifts, books, and seasonal and party goods.
