Metro Commercial Brings Upscale Convenience to Marlton, N.J. with the Shoppes at Elmwood
New shopping center will give pedestrians and drivers easy access to affluent shops and restaurants
Marlton, N.J.—May 3, 2005—The Shoppes at Elmwood, a new 25,200
sq. ft. neighborhood center on Route 70 and Troth Road, will fill the
void of high-end shopping and dining in rapidly expanding Marlton N.J.,
while providing safe and easy access with a new traffic light and sidewalks.
The leasing team from Metro Commercial Real Estate, Paul Friedman and
Michele Coppola, are the exclusive leasing agents for the brand new center
slated to open at the end of May, 2005.
The Shoppes at Elmwood will bring style, sophistication, and convenient
service to Marlton residents who must now travel to neighboring Cherry
Hill and Mt. Laurel to satisfy their shopping needs. The Shoppes at Elmwood
will cater to some 2,000 households within a quarter-mile of the new complex,
and about 1,000 households in easy walking distance.
To attract and serve the area’s growing population, Metro Commercial
and Troth Associates, the center’s builder and developer, worked
hand-in-glove to create a unique shopping experience that combines high-end
shops and restaurants with day-to-day service retailers. The result: the
Shoppes at Elmwood will feature unique shops such as Bernard’s Hair
Salon, Mikado Japanese Cuisine, Loupy’s Crab gourmet seafood take
out, and upscale woman’s apparel store Heather’s Clothes.
These stores will be flanked by free-standing services such as 7-11 with
an integral gas station, a Citizens Bank open seven days a week, and a
Pizza Hut-Italian, a new sit-down restaurant concept adopted by Pizza
Hut. Other shops include an Amazon Café, King Wong Chinese Take-Out,
Postal Connection, and a Frankford Cleaners with on-site tailoring, wedding
gown storage, and drapery cleaning.
Troth Associates also won permission from the New Jersey Department of
Transportation to install a much-needed traffic light on heavily-traveled
Route 70, giving westbound cars a convenient left-hand turning lane at
Troth Road into the Shoppes at Elmwood, and helping pedestrians cross
the highway safely. Three Lanes on Route 70 and Troth Road have already
been widened and sidewalks paved on either side of the street to make
the center easy to access.
“The convenience and prime location of the Shoppes at Elmwood will
provide much-needed high-end commercial retail to this corridor of Route
70,” says Paul Friedman, Leasing Agent for Metro Commercial. “This
area is experiencing phenomenal growth. The Shoppes at Elmwood will be
the ideal upscale complement to Marlton’s retail and residential
renaissance.”
“This center will provide a unique shopping experience to a high-growth
area of Southern New Jersey,” says Steven H. Gartner, President
of Metro Commercial. “The Shoppes at Elmwood validates Metro Commercial’s
strong commitment to providing communities with quality retail shopping
that perfectly integrates into the regional landscape, creating the best
environment for shoppers and their neighborhoods,”
